Single Sisters House Museum
Built by the Moravians in 1785 to house women and young girls, Single Sisters provided shelter, worship space and the first educational institution for women in the United States. The Single Sisters building has been in continual use for more than 200 years. Today, after an award-winning restoration, Single Sisters houses Salems admissions, public relations and student life offices as well as classrooms and a museum that depicts life as it was in the 1700s for Moravian women.
