Wally Road Scenic Byway
In Ohio's largest Outdoor Recreational complex, Wally road Scenic Byway is "A Touch of the Past, Preserved for the Future."
Â
Our byway is 10.41 miles encompassing 3 counties on the county roads that parellel the Mohican State Scenic River. The Wally Road Scenic Byway reawakens people to remember to look at the scenic wonders that was created by the last great glacier in this river valley.
This Walhonding Valley Railroad route was considered one of the most scenic train rides in Ohio during its operation. Now visitors can view the same scenery that railway passengers experienced a century ago, and they can do it from a canoe, or from their own vehicle!
This Byway has a number of recreational facilities from camping, cabins, canoeing and motel rooms to restaurants, botanical gardens, horseback riding, and arts programs. There are also historical themed events along this route throughout the year. The natural beauty seen during all four seasons is worth the drive down the Wally Road Scenic Byway at least 4 times a year.
The Byway is located off of St Rt 3 south of Loudonville, or off of St Rt 514 north of Danville from the Knox County Amish Gateway. Amish Country is a few minutes drive from here!
