Science Museum of Western Virginia

The Science Museum is a fun place for adults and children to explore the wonders of science through hands-on experiences!

Permanent galleries enable visitors to learn about weather, the physics of light and sound, geology, and the human body. Special features are the Living River, with a hands-on touch tank of ocean animals such as horseshoe crabs and sea stars, and the Earth's Treasures gallery with stunning mineral displays.

Explore the reaches of the universe with star shows in Hopkins Planetarium and then come back down to earth to experience giant screen films in the MegaDome Theater, an exciting new way to learn about the world around you.

The Science Museum Launch Pad Gift Shop is located on the first floor, full of fun, educational toys, games, and gifts.
